A Miami day charter is the simplest way to spend a few hours out on Biscayne Bay without committing to a whole weekend. You leave from Miami Beach Marina, your captain and crew run the boat, and you decide how the day unfolds: a slow cruise past the Star Island mansions, an afternoon anchored at the Haulover sandbar, or a sunset run back through Government Cut. Boats start at $1,700, with captain, crew, fuel, and dockage already included.
We are a Miami charter brokerage, which means we match you to the right boat and captain from a fleet of 50+ yachts rather than pushing one option. Tell us your group size, your date, and what kind of day you want, and we will line it up. Call or text Danny at 305-813-0537 to talk it through.
What a Miami day charter includes

Pictured: the 88′ Azimut 2023
A large white luxury yacht anchored in clear turquoise water near a sandy beach, with several people swimming and relaxing in the shallow sea and on a small turquoise paddleboard. A city skyline is visible in the distance under a blue sky with scattered clouds.
Every day charter comes with a professional captain and crew, fuel, and dockage. You are not driving the boat or paying separately for the things that usually turn into surprise line items somewhere else. What you book is the yacht for your chosen block of time, fully staffed and ready at the dock.
Standard with the boat: captain, crew, fuel, and dockage at Miami Beach Marina. Common add-ons you can layer on: catering, a private DJ, water toys, decorations, a photographer, and ground transportation to the marina. More on those further down.
How long is a day charter?
Most groups book a half-day or a full day. A half-day is enough time to get out to the bay, anchor at a sandbar for a swim, and cruise the islands. A full day gives you room to do all of that at an easier pace, add a lunch stop, and still catch the light on the way back in.
If you are leaning toward more than a single day, an overnight or multi-day trip opens up routes that a day charter cannot reach, including the Bahamas. You can read about those on our multi-day charters page.
Where you will cruise
Miami’s water is the reason to do this, and the good stuff is close. A typical day on the bay might look like this:
Leave Miami Beach Marina and head into Biscayne Bay, cruising past Star Island, Hibiscus Island, and the Venetian Islands, where most of the city’s best-known waterfront homes sit. From there, point toward the Haulover or Nixon sandbar to drop anchor in waist-deep water for swimming and floating. On the way back, run out toward the Cape Florida Lighthouse and the old stilt houses at Stiltsville, then come in through Government Cut as the skyline lights up.
Your captain will read the day, the tide, and your group and adjust from there. If you want a fuller breakdown of where boats go from the city, see our guide to the best yacht routes from Miami.
Choosing your yacht
Pictured: the 88′ Princess PFO
A white luxury motor yacht sailing on calm water at sunset, with a city skyline of tall buildings in the background. The sky is orange-pink, and the boat leaves a small wake as it moves. People are visible on the upper deck.
The fleet runs from around 53 feet up to 92 feet, so the right boat depends on your group and what you care about most. A few examples:
- The 60’ Azimut and 62’ Prestige are built for easy day charters on the bay.
- The 53’ Galeon and 88’ Princess have floating pools, and the Princess adds a jacuzzi and sound system.
- The 92’ Hargrave carries water toys, including a Sea-Doo Spark, wakeboard, and water skis.
- The 57’ Sunseeker suits larger weekend groups.
Most day charters carry 2 to 13 guests. Full specs, capacities, and photos for each boat are on the our yachts page, and we will help you narrow it down once we know your numbers and date.
What people book a day charter for
A day on the water fits almost any reason to celebrate, and the boat sets the tone better than another rooftop ever will. The most common requests we get:
- Bachelorette parties and bachelor parties, often built around a sandbar stop
- Birthdays and milestone celebrations
- Corporate days, from client entertaining to team outings
- Sunset cruises and engagement moments
- Group days that turn into a party yacht once the music starts
Add-ons to make the day yours
The boat is the base. From there you can build the day:
- Catering, from light bites to a full spread
- A private DJ or your own playlist on the sound system
- Water toys, including Sea-Doo, wakeboard, and water skis on boats that carry them
- Decorations for birthdays, bachelorettes, and proposals
- A photographer to shoot the day
- Transportation to and from Miami Beach Marina

How much does it cost to rent a yacht for a day?
Day charters start at $1,700 and run up past $15,000 for the largest yachts on a full day. Where you land depends on the boat, the length of the charter, your date, and the season, since pricing moves with demand around Miami’s peak months. Captain, crew, fuel, and dockage are included in the rate, so the number you are quoted is the number you plan around, with no hidden marina or fuel fees tacked on later.

How to book
Booking is a quick conversation, not a checkout form. Tell us your date, your group size, and what you want the day to feel like, and we will match you to a boat and captain and send a quote. Last-minute dates are often doable, especially midweek.

Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to rent a yacht in Miami for a day?
Day charters start at $1,700 and go up from there depending on the boat, the length of the charter, your date, and the season. Captain, crew, fuel, and dockage are included. See our cost guide for ranges by size.
How long is a Miami day charter?
Most groups book a half-day or a full day. A half-day covers a cruise, a sandbar swim, and the islands; a full day gives you room for a lunch stop and a slower pace.
How many people can come on a day charter?
Most day charters carry 2 to 13 guests. The right boat for your group depends on your numbers, so let us know your headcount and we will match the capacity.
Where does the yacht leave from?
Day charters depart from Miami Beach Marina. We can also arrange transportation to the marina as an add-on.
Do I need a boating license or to drive the boat?
No. Every charter includes a captain and crew, so you and your group are guests for the day.
What is included in the price?
Captain, crew, fuel, and dockage are included. Catering, a DJ, water toys, decorations, a photographer, and transportation are optional add-ons.
Can we stop at a sandbar?
Yes. The Haulover and Nixon sandbars are popular day-charter stops for swimming and anchoring, and your captain will time it to the tide.
Can we go to the Bahamas on a day charter?
The Bahamas is a multi-day trip, not a single day out. If that is what you are after, see our multi-day charters page.
