# Miami Yacht Rental With a Jet Ski: Which Boats Include One

by [Daniel Marder](https://miamiyachtconnect.com/author/dannymiamiyachtconnect-com/) | Nov 3, 2026

People do not search for “water toys” when they want a jet ski. They search for a yacht rental with a jet ski, because in their head it is one booking: the boat, the crew, and a jet ski tied off the swim platform waiting for them at the sandbar. That is a fair way to think about it, and in Miami it is entirely doable. The part nobody explains is that there are two different routes to it, they cost different things, and only some of the fleet carries a jet ski as standard.

This guide covers which Miami Yacht Connect yachts come with a jet ski included, how to add one to a boat that does not, who Florida law actually allows to ride it, and how the whole thing works on the day. If you want the wider menu of toys rather than a jet ski specifically, the [yacht water toys guide](https://miamiyachtconnect.com/yacht-water-toys-miami/) runs through slides, Seabobs, towables and inflatables.

The short answer

Yes. Several yachts in the fleet carry a jet ski as part of their standard toy package, and any charter can have one added as an hourly add-on. In Florida a personal watercraft operator must be at least 14, and anyone born on or after January 1, 1988 needs a Boating Safety Education ID card to operate a vessel with a 10 HP or larger motor. Send us the ages of the riders when you book and we will tell you exactly who can take the controls.

## Two ways to get a jet ski on your charter

The first route is to book a yacht that already carries one. A handful of boats in the fleet have a jet ski as part of their standard toy package, stowed on board or towed behind, and it comes out when the captain anchors. Nothing to arrange, nothing to coordinate, and the jet ski is yours for the whole anchor stop rather than for a booked hour.

The second route is to add one. A jet ski can be brought to almost any charter as an hourly add-on, delivered to meet the boat, which means you are not limited to the four or five yachts that carry their own. It is the right answer when the group has already fallen for a particular boat, or when only one or two people actually want to ride and it is not worth choosing the whole charter around it.

Which one is better depends on how central the jet ski is to your day. If riding is the point, book a boat that has one. If it is a nice extra for an hour in the middle of a sandbar stop, add it.

## Which yachts carry a jet ski as standard

These are the boats where a jet ski is part of the package rather than something arranged separately. All of them are certified for up to 13 cruising guests, which is the standard ceiling across most of the fleet.

The [105 Azimut SV](https://miamiyachtconnect.com/yacht/105-azimut-sv/) has the most complete setup of the group: two jet skis, three Seabobs and a floating lounge, across five staterooms and four bathrooms. Two jet skis matters more than it sounds, because with one machine and twelve guests you spend the afternoon queueing. With two, the rotation actually works.

The [105 Leopard](https://miamiyachtconnect.com/yacht/105-leopard/) carries a Yamaha jet ski alongside one of the deepest toy inventories in the fleet: a custom air slide, two Seabobs, four paddle boards, a floating island for eight, a floating dock, towable toys and snorkelling gear, with a jacuzzi up top and four staterooms below. On term charters it also carries a 16-foot Zodiac tender.

**Featured: [105 Azimut SV](https://miamiyachtconnect.com/yacht/105-azimut-sv/)**

The [116 Azimut](https://miamiyachtconnect.com/yacht/116-azimut/) is the flagship option, with a jet ski and a tender, two Seabobs, snorkelling gear, paddle boards and a Fiesta island across five staterooms and six bathrooms, plus a hot tub and Starlink WiFi. On eight-hour charters a water slide is added.

The [88 Sirena](https://miamiyachtconnect.com/yacht/88-sirena/) is the smaller, more manageable one of the group and still carries a jet ski and a SeaBob, with a jacuzzi, a plunge pool, a barbecue grill and a full bar on the flybridge across five staterooms and four bathrooms.

Fleet inventory does change, so confirm the toy list for your date when you call rather than assuming from a page. The [full fleet is here](https://miamiyachtconnect.com/yachts/) .

## Who is actually allowed to ride it

This is the question that catches groups out, and almost nobody answers it before you have already paid.

Florida law sets two separate bars. First, age: according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, a personal watercraft operator must be at least 14 years old, and it is a second-degree misdemeanour to knowingly let someone under 14 operate one. Renting a personal watercraft requires being at least 18.

Second, education. Anyone born on or after January 1, 1988 must have completed an approved boating safety course and carry a Boating Safety Education Identification Card, along with photo ID, to operate a vessel powered by a 10 HP or larger motor. A jet ski is comfortably over that threshold, so for most adults under about forty this rule applies. The card does not expire, and a temporary certificate issued on course completion covers you for up to 90 days.

None of this stops your group getting on the water, but it does change who takes the controls, so tell us the ages of the people who want to ride when you enquire. The captain has final say on board and will confirm on the day who is riding and under what supervision. Our guide to [boating licences and Miami charters](https://miamiyachtconnect.com/boating-license-yacht-charter-miami/) covers the law in more detail, including why you do not need any licence at all to simply be a guest on a captained charter.

## How it works on the day

The jet ski does not come out while the boat is moving. It goes in the water once the captain has anchored and shut the engines down, which on a typical charter means an hour or so after you leave the dock. Everything before that is the cruise out.

Once you are anchored, a crew member launches it, gives a short briefing on the throttle, the kill-switch lanyard and where you are allowed to go, and then it is a rotation. Expect ten to fifteen minutes each if the group is large and there is one machine, longer if the boat carries two or people lose interest after a turn, which they usually do. Life jackets are worn on the jet ski, not optional.

**Featured: [88 Sirena](https://miamiyachtconnect.com/yacht/88-sirena/)**

A few practical things nobody mentions. Fuel is included in the charter, so you are not stopping to pay for gas. You will get soaked, so there is no point riding in anything you want to keep dry. The crew watches the whole time and will call you back in if marine traffic builds or the wind picks up, and that call is not negotiable. And the jet ski gets put away well before the end of the charter so the boat can be made ready for the run home, which is one more argument for a six-hour day rather than four.

## On the yacht or rented at the beach

The honest comparison is not between two yacht charters. It is between having a jet ski on your boat and renting one for an hour from an operator on the beach, which is what most visitors do.

| | Jet ski on your charter | Beach rental by the hour |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Where you start | From the swim platform, already out at the sandbar | From a beach or marina, inside a marked boundary |
| How long you get | The whole anchor stop, shared around the group | The hour you paid for, clock running |
| Who is watching | Your own crew, from your own boat | A guide shared with other renters |
| The rest of the group | Swimming, eating and waiting their turn on board | Standing on the sand watching |
| Fuel | Included in the charter | Usually charged or capped |
| Makes sense when | You are chartering anyway and want the day built around the water | Two people want a quick ride and nothing else |

## Adding a jet ski to a boat that does not carry one

Most of the fleet does not have a jet ski of its own, and that is not a reason to rule a boat out. A jet ski is on the water toys menu as an hourly add-on and can be arranged for almost any charter, which means you can choose the boat on its own merits and bring the toy to it.

The [68 Galeon 2025](https://miamiyachtconnect.com/yacht/68-galeon-2025/) is the obvious example. It is one of the newest boats in the fleet, built with the brand’s fold-out beach-mode terraces that bring the main deck right down to the water, and it carries up to 13 guests. It does not come with a jet ski. Add one for a couple of hours at the sandbar and you have a boat with better water access than most superyachts plus the toy you wanted.

**Featured: [68 Galeon 2025](https://miamiyachtconnect.com/yacht/68-galeon-2025/)**

Add-ons are booked ahead, not on the day, because the machine has to be scheduled and brought out to meet you. Hourly rates for every toy are listed on the [water toys page](https://miamiyachtconnect.com/water-toys/) , and the [charter cost guide](https://miamiyachtconnect.com/miami-yacht-rental-cost/) explains how add-ons sit alongside the base charter price in a quote.

## Where you actually ride

Miami has rules about where a jet ski can open up, and your captain knows them better than any map. In practice almost all riding happens at the anchorage, in open water away from the channel.

The Haulover Sandbar and the Nixon Sandbar off Key Biscayne are the two standard stops, and they behave differently on a jet ski. Haulover is busier and livelier, with more boats rafted together and more traffic to pick your way through. Nixon is calmer and more open, which makes it the better one if riders are inexperienced. The [Haulover versus Nixon comparison](https://miamiyachtconnect.com/miami-sandbar-trip-haulover-vs-nixon/) covers how the two differ for a whole day, not just the toys.

What you cannot do is ride through the no-wake zones around the marinas and the Venetian Islands, cut across Government Cut, or go off on your own out of sight of the boat. None of that is MYC being cautious. It is a mix of Florida law, Coast Guard safety zones and the simple fact that a jet ski is small and hard to see from the bridge of a cruise ship.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can you rent a yacht in Miami with a jet ski included?

Yes. Several boats in the fleet, including the 105 Azimut SV, the 105 Leopard, the 116 Azimut and the 88 Sirena, carry a jet ski as part of their standard toy package. Any other charter can have one added as an hourly add-on, booked in advance.

### How old do you have to be to ride a jet ski in Florida?

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission sets the minimum operator age for a personal watercraft at 14. Renting one requires being 18 or older. Separately, anyone born on or after January 1, 1988 needs a Boating Safety Education ID card to operate a vessel with a 10 HP or larger motor.

### Do I need a licence to ride the jet ski on a charter?

You do not need any licence to be a guest on a captained charter. Operating the jet ski yourself is a different question, and the education-card rule above applies. Tell us the ages of the riders when you book and the captain will confirm the arrangement on the day.

### How many people can ride at once?

One or two, depending on the machine. With a group of twelve and a single jet ski you are looking at a rotation of roughly ten to fifteen minutes each, which is why the 105 Azimut SV carrying two makes a noticeable difference on a full boat.

### Is fuel for the jet ski extra?

No. Fuel is part of the charter, so there is no stopping to pay for gas and no surprise at the end of the day.

### Can children ride the jet ski?

Not as the operator if they are under 14, which is a hard legal limit in Florida. Younger children can ride as passengers where the captain judges it safe, with a properly sized life jacket. The crew makes that call on the day.

### When in the charter does the jet ski come out?

Once the captain has anchored and the engines are off, usually about an hour into the charter. It goes away again before the run home, so a six-hour charter gives you considerably more riding time than a four-hour one.
